This is a genuine AAM pinion yoke for the 8.5 10 bolt rear differential found in many GM cars and trucks from 1973-1998. This is for the Saginaw u-joint that uses inside snap rings to keep the u-joint centered in the yoke. These were also us in 4wd front 8.25IFS and 9.25IFS from 1988-2010. The Powertrain part number for this yoke is 3R04-02. You can use this yoke with a 26060975 sleeve to replace the 40029412 for an 8.6″ rear axle. It would be quite a bit cheaper.
