This updated mainshaft fits all NV4500 Dodge diesel 5 speed transmissions. This is the updated shaft with splines the full length of the 5th gear and a 2 piece drop washer that goes in a groove behind the 5th gear to isolate it from the nut. This mainshaft virtually eliminates the problem of the 5th gear nut backing off.
